His Excellency, President Rufus T. Firefefly (born 1890) was president of Freedonia during their war with Sylvania, starting in 1933.
Firefly was elected president after the previous president of Freedonia was forced to resign due to Freedonia's financial trouble. Mrs Teasdale had threatened to cut off her financial support left by her husband unless Firefly was made president. He started the war when he hit Sylvanian Ambassador Trentino during an argument with him at a party hosted by Mrs. Teasdale. Firefly, with assistance from Chicolini, Pinky and Bob Roland also finished the war when he forced Trentino to surrender after throwing fruit at him.
